Paul and Christine

Christine's decision

Paul is sadly looking through the window. Lynn enters the office; she has several letters for him to sign. He doesn't answer, so she says she'll come back later. Paul knows that Christine made a decision, and that the first person she called was Danny. He thinks that's the proof his marriage is over. Lynn is sorry. She leaves the office but comes back only a few seconds later to tell Paul that someone is here to see him. It's Christine.

Without looking at his secretary, Paul answers he isn't ready to see his wife. He hears the door closing behind Lynn and openning again. He turns round. Christine is in front of him.

"Lynn says that you didn't feel like seing me", Christine says. Paul admits that Lynn didn't lie. He adds it's a good thing she's here, because he has something to say to her. "I wish you all the happiness that you deserve", Paul says. "I love you and I won't prevent you from living with Danny if that's what you want. You should leave."
But Christine doesn't move. Can she say something? Paul thinks it's unnecessary. "Just promise me you'll be happy", he says without looking at her. Christine answers he doesn't know her as well as he believes. Paul agrees. He never thought he would lose her.

Christine wants to know who told him he had lost her. Paul briefly answers that Lynn was with her when she called Danny. Anyway, he doesn't want to talk anymore about that. And he doesn't want to know what she said to Danny. "I told Danny that the only man I love is my husband", Christine says. Paul's speechless. "I never stopped loving you", Christine adds. "I'm sorry you suffered so much". Paul cuts in on her. He's the happiest man in the world. He tells Christine he loves her. They look at each other and start kissing passionately.
