Thought I'd post the link here to Doug's latest blog talk radio show which is now archived in case anyone missed it - I know Mathy's posted it over on Doug Davidson thread at Sony but those topics get buried quickly:

http://www.blogtalkradio.com/buzzworthy ... g-davidson

I think it was only an hour long and started a bit late, rambled a lot, and didn't get into a lot of detail about story lines or Paul's character or even chat room questions until the time was almost up - although it's always interesting to hear Doug's perspective on the state of the industry and the production changes at the show over the years. When I listen to his passion and dedication to soap opera story telling it makes me all the more sad that such a talented and committed actor who understands and appreciates the medium so well is being so overlooked and underused.

But I have to admit that I much preferred the interview Roger Newcombe at We love Soaps did - he had good leading questions that produced a much more interesting and relevant chat.

Doug is going to be on Olivia Wilder's show again! :D Tuesday, July 27th 7:00PM PT/10:00PM ET.

I'm back in school part time and I unfortunately have class that night! I hope someone can listen to it! They always record it and you can listen to it later right?

I managed to listen to bits of it - in between phone calls and other interruptions! Missed the first bit. Lot of chatter that went nowhere - several callers calling in just to say how much they loved Paul...lot of chat about the complications of Facebook. Doug mentioned it's very time consuming to try and keep up with it but tries his best to respond - also that there is a cap on the number of people you can add and he's reaching the upper limits. It takes a while for him to get mail sent to the studio because they check it (re the anthrax scare a while back) before sending it on to him.

Domestically - has an old English sheep dog who follows him around everywhere and a "ragamuffin" cat who follows his son around. Lives near Santa Barbara (actually it's Montecito ;)) and the commute to work often takes him 90 mins or up to 2 + hours if it's a 10 am call because of rush hour. He and his wife will be empty nesters in the Fall because his daughter (who is 20) is going to music college in London to study classical violin and his son (who is 18) is off to explore Europe on his own. He mentioned his wife was on the show and referenced the youtube video that Mathys (said "a friend!) made for his 32nd anniversary on the show which has a clip of her! Talked a bit about parenting and thought in retrospect that they did it the hard way - very intense and involved!

Personally - Is starting a new fitness regime to loose some weight! (Hey - maybe there are some more love scenes coming up!? ;) ) Says he enjoys good food too much! Has been a runner since he was 11 years old! Goes to the gym once in a while to work out but mostly runs for fitness. Enjoys all food that is well prepared. Likes a good hamburger, steak, coq au vin, pate de fois gras...! Also mentioned martinis and red wine (but I've also read in interviews that he enjoys a gin and tonic too!)
Is in the process of writing three books! One could be due out soon! But wouldn't say what it was about! (Bet it's a behind the scenes book!!) Another is fiction and another is a self help book.
Also mentioned the third annual Rick Springfield and friends cruise coming up in November. Rick is his best friend and their wives are best friends too.

Show wise - tried to diplomatically answer a caller's comment about the recast Heather. Admitted he thought the world of Vail and that it was jarring to have to adapt to a new person. Still keeps in contact with her and believes she will go on to bigger things. Was blindsided by the sudden replacement and doesn't know why the decision was made. But says Eden is a doll and really likes her and her husband and that they are great people.
Mentioned a scene with Phillip III (Thom Bierdz). Said the cat climbed all over them! Not sure if it was a scene from the past or a new one? Missed that part. (Seem to remember one like that a while back?)
LLB has been on vacation for three weeks but they pre taped and post taped scenes so viewers probably wouldn't be aware of it. Not sure if he said how long her story would last - but did let slip Paul goes to Michigan (Lansing??) to track down Nina's son. Missed any other chatter there might have been about LLB unfortunately......

The show lasted an hour and a half. IMO too much Olivia and not enough Doug! I always find with these shows they are filled more with chit chat than leading or interesting questions - especially about story lines and the show. But it's always good to hear Doug's voice! He sounded a bit tired though!

I got to listen to most of the rest of it too. I think I missed some but you filled in the blanks Kynn!! :D I did hear a little more about LLB. A caller asked which woman Doug would like Paul to be with and he said LLB, because of their long relationship on and off the screen. He said they really bonded when both his Mother and her Father had Dementia at about the same time. He said he really love working with TC too, she's a lot of fun. She lives in Tennessee and has to fly to LA everytime she works and she stays with JC when she's in town. There must be a scene coming up where Paul and Chris talk about their wedding, because he said they were shooting the scene and in order to prove what was in the script about the wedding was wrong or right they used his phone to pull up youtube.com and watch the wedding scene to see what was correct. So that sounds pretty interesting too. I was hoping Chris's visit would not just be about Chance, Ronan and Heather!

I agree, Olivia talks too much for my liking and I wished she would have focused more on Doug, I didn't really care to hear the stories about her. But it was great listening to Doug and hearing him talk about his life and the show. I really like the way he talks about his wife and family, you can tell he just adores them all! :D

I finally found sometime yesterday to listen to it. I wish Doug would have expanded on some stuff, like the three books that he's writing, but no such luck. I did like how he talked about his family. Olivia said something like your wife is lucky to have you and he replied I'm the lucky one. I thought that was so sweet. I also liked how he gave a shout out to ATWT and said it used to be one of his favorite shows and that it's sad that it's getting cancelled. Of course, I LOVED when he gave a shout out to his friend in France (Go Mathys)!
