Paul, Christine, Mary and Lynne

Mary's disappointment

Mary and Lynne arrive at Paul and Christine's apartment. They are looking forward to watching the pictures of Paul and Christine's honeymoon. Paul jokes: "That's very personal" he says. "We want to keep our photo album to ourselves."

Paul brings two glasses of wine for Mary and Lynne. He says he'll be back immediately with a little glass of wine for his wife, but Christine thinks it's not a good idea. Mary looks surprised, but especially pleased.

Paul is getting the photo album back. "It's time for the surprise" he says. He pulls two presents out of a bag. He gives the first to Lynne and the other one to his mother. Mary is disappointed. She was expecting good news. Paul and Christine look at each other. "Are we thinking about the same thing?" Paul says to his wife. Mary isn't happy to hear that Christine isn't pregnant, and that the newlyweds plan to wait for a few years to start a family.

Mary stands up. She says she remembers her house where children were laughing and runing all day. Having a lot of children is the most beautiful thing in the world. At the same time, a blond woman is trying to get in touch with Mary by telephone. Is it Patty?
