Wanting to find out what Christine has hided from him, Paul follows her to Norfolk. He gets into the house Christine has been in and asks her for an explanation. After hearing a voice behind him, he turns round. His father who vanished years ago is in front of him. Paul is stunned. After being speechless for a long time, he is finally able to say: "you're alive". Carl doesn't recognize his son. He moves back when Paul heads towards him and he wants him to leave. Christine gets Paul out of Carl's house.
Later, in their hotel room, Paul kindly questions Christine. How long has she known that Carl is still alive? How did he react when she told him who she was? Christine hasn't said anything to Carl. She now knows for sure that Carl hasn't feigned his amnesia. Paul wants to go back to Carl's but Christine disagrees. Carl needs time. Paul cries. He loves his father and he wants him to remember him. That means a lot for him. Paul adds he is sure that Carl will get his memory back. Christine embraces her husband.
