Nikki doesn't want Paul to give up his bed by her spending the night. He tells her he sleeps on the couch all the time. He's used to it. Plus, he's close to the fridge.
"You're a very good friend", Nikki says. "I only wish Katherine had leaned on me the way I've leaned on you."
Paul makes Nikki sit on the couch next to him and then, he starts comforting her. Katherine saw Nikki as a daughter, didn't she? Would Nikki have burden Victoria with all her problems if she had been going through everything she had? Of course not. Neither would Katherine. So no more regrets, okay?
Nikki smiles. She doesn't know how she would have survived without Paul the last few months. Paul changes the subject. Does Nikki remember the first time they met? She was wearing a bikini with little hearts all over it. Paul bought her an ice cream, and introduced himself to her. How old were they? Seventeen?
Paul and Nikki look at each other without saying anything. They start kissing. After making love, they agree they haven't any second thoughts. They feel like they were kids again.
