Paul and Nikki

Paul proposes to Nikki

Paul looks at his watch. He wonders if it's too late to find a table somewhere dark and romantic. Nikki is fine where she is right now. She says she'll take what they have any day. "Any day? What about every day of the rest of our lives?" Paul asks. "Nikki, will you marry me?"

Nikki's speechless. Paul gets down on one knee and he shows her the ring. Nikki puts her hand on his cheek. She says he is the sweetest man in the whole world, but she can't say yes. Paul kisses her hand. He apologizes for rushing things. He says he completely understands if she doesn't want to get married again. "No", Nikki says "You don't understand. I'm not saying yes, but I'm not saying no".

Paul wishes he had asked her to marry him when they where kids. He recalls the ice cream they had together, and the bikini she was wearing. "You took my breath away", Paul says. ""You still do". Paul and Nikki kiss. Heather comes in, joking for them to "get a room". Nikki leaves.

Paul is alone at the bar now. Nikki surprises him with an ice-cream with the same flavors that they had the day they met at the beach. "You're the only man that when I look at your face, I smile always, even at my lowest", Nikki says. "And I don't feel afraid when I'm with you. I belong in these strong arms. So my answer is yes. Yes, yes, I will marry you." Paul is overjoyed. He stands up and he kisses Nikki passionately.
